Back-to-wall (B2W) HS split-hold
Handstand supported-alignment
•
44s
THE WHAT:
For some practitioners kicking up to balance firstly into a SPLIT position, and then bringing the legs together from there (or even just practicing balance in the split form) can be easier than kicking up directly to straight-line or balancing in the straight-line position.
In these cases, it may be valuable to increase investment in this form, as the balance experience will still have transferability to your straight-line hold. It can also be used to develop leg-proprioception (i.e. "mapping" where they are in space in relation to the body), and as an accessory tool for improving the freestanding sagittal scissors drill (i.e. leg-switching, but whilst in balance).
