IN FOCUS: 'Force generation & transmission' (FG&T)
42m
THE WHAT:
We take an 'In Focus' look at the concept of 'force-generation & transmission' (FG&T). Whilst practiced in a variety of frames including both arm and leg patterns, the base concepts remain the same and are at play in all dynamic movement from walking, jumping & running to throwing, punching & kicking. Practice consistently over the years to explore and learn more about both their nuances and general applications. Resource contents:
00:05 - On the basic concept of FG&T
02:47 - Demonstrative application: 'ball & string'
05:44 - On posture for FG&T (being 'earthed')
*10:10 - 'Weight-dropping' (NOT a squat)
11:46 - On 'pumping' from the legs
*12:38 - Leg 'pumping' & the walking pattern
13:32 - On difference between 'empty' & 'dead' arms
14:28 - 'Emptying' arms: 'Kidney taps'
15:28 - On the 'axis'
18:40 - On 'torsional' transmission (torso & pelvis)
*22:20 - The 'infinity figure-8'
*27:04 - Integrating 'Kidney taps & 'Kidney brushing'
29:45 - On additional arm-patterns & coordinations
30:54 - On mindfulness of shoulder-instability
32:15 - On 'embryonic stretching'
34:00 - On application to the legs (eg. 'dynamic hip-rotation')
