‘Powel-raises’
RE-/PREHAB: Shoulders, scap & neck

THE WHAT & HOW:
A prehabilitation and 'structural balance' context, which essentially means equalling out investments put into predominantly push/throwing-oriented contexts to the front of the body (e.g. weightlifting, boxing, and also climbing sports), or simply during a particular phase of physical-practice in which this investment is increased (e.g. strong work on pushup or ‘protracted’ pulling forms).
It can, however, be valuable where long-term lifestyle and/or practice-habits have favoured the anterior-chain (movement to the front of the body) and the posterior-chain is comparatively lacking in development. Both a kyphotic posture (curved/"hunched" upper-back) and tightness/pain in the shoulders, chest-muscles & biceps are stereotypical effects of such habits, over time.
