Handstand balance contexts

THE WORK OF BALANCE:
Development of the freestanding, straight-line handstand should remain the number-1 focus to those progressing from 'supported-balance' contexts. Having been said, it is important to "soften" your desire to simply balance, because it will take MUCH time and consistent, patient practice for it to "appear".
Firstly, any romantic ideas of balance as being suspended in a perfectly stacked "0-point" and simply staying there must be immediately dispelled. Rather than perfect equilibrium, balance is a continual FIGHT of correcting and re-correcting, of near-falling and catching (but, ultimately, much more falling than catching). From the single set to the practice as a whole, you must work HARD - and it must be relentless.
