THE WHAT & WHY:
Once you have developed your fundamental straight-line handstand to consistent hold times of at least 30-seconds and have some experience holding handstand in a basic straddle form, (i.e. legs straight & apart), adding some movement of the legs will both require you to invite and manage "noise" in your handstand hold.
Developing proprioception toward leg-movement in space is also fundamental to further handstand strength & balance contexts, such as press HS, in which movement of the legs is a fact of the pattern. Working with 'leg-extensions', then, develops this proprioception & structural awareness/adaptability as weight-distribuition begins to subtly shift, requiring you to constantly adjust & re-balance in what is now a DYNAMIC balance context.
